Vocational Education and Training in Schools

The VET in Schools program enables students in years 10, 11 or 12 to learn the skills and knowledge necessary to gain a nationally recognised qualification – and employment in specific industries - whilst still at school. Training can also count towards the QCE!

To support this program, the Queensland Government subsidises the cost of training for eligible high school students to enrol with approved Skills Assure suppliers (SAS). At DIVTEC, training is provided fee-free for students enrolling into:

  • HLT23215 - Certificate II in Health Support Services

  • SIT20316 – Certificate II in Hospitality

In order to enrol under the VET in Schools program, eligible students must;

  • Be living in QLD;

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, a New Zealand citizen or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency;

  • Provide a signed letter from a Queensland Government school confirming their enrolment, current physical address and any previously attempted study;

  • Complete a Training and Employment survey within three months of exiting the course.
