Course Outline
This Skill Set aims to empower students with the skills and knowledge to provide person-centred support to people with disabilities.
It is suitable for people who hold a Certificate III level or higher qualification in the Community or Health spaces relating to direct client care or support and wish to further develop or reinforce their knowledge.

There are no pre-requisites for this skill set.
This Skill Set has specific eligibility criteria to receive government funding. See subsidised training eligibility section below for more information.
Applicants must be over 15 years of age.
Applicants will be required to complete a short assessment to determine if their current Language, Literacy, and Numeracy skills are sufficient to allow them to successfully meet the learning outcomes of the skill set.
This skill set requires students to access learning resources as well as complete and submit assessments online. Students will need to have adequate computer literacy and access to reliable equipment to facilitate this.
Applicants must be one of the following; an Australian Citizen or New Zealand Citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or hold an appropriate visa. Students must provide evidence proving they are eligible to study in Australia.
Students will be required to provide proof of identity documents. This may include, but is not limited to, a photo ID, a medicare card, and any proof of residency or right to work.
All students enrolling in an accredited course are required to have a valid Unique Student Identification (USI) number. If you do not have an existing USI you can create one here https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-your-usi
This Skill Set requires you to demonstrate skills in the workplace under supervision as part of the assessment criteria. Students must be currently employed. The suitability of their workplace will need to be confirmed by their trainer during pre-training review.

To be eligible for government funding for this Skill Set students must already hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent). Students must also be a New or Existing Worker in the Community Services and Health Industry in a role involving provision of direct client care or support.

Students who are eligible for government funding are required to pay a co-contribution fee towards the cost of their course. This Co-Contribution fee represents the total amount a funded student will be charged.
Under regulations a Skills Assure Supplier is only able to accept 30% of the Co-contribution fee upfront. The remaining balance may be paid through a payment plan
